Frequently Asked Questions
How do I schedule a meeting with an attorney?
Before we know whether we can represent you, we need to meet with you to evaluate your case. This initial meeting is called a consultation.
All consults with Schwartz & Sheehan are by appointment only. We are unable to accommodate walk-in appointments. Due to COVID-19, we are currently conducting all consults remotely by phone call or preferably by Zoom Video Call.
Please submit a consult request form online, or schedule by calling us at (425) 374-1681, Monday-Friday between 9am-5pm. If you call outside of business hours or we are unable to answer during business hours, please leave a detailed voicemail and we will return your call within 24 hours. You may leave us a voicemail letting us know you would like to schedule a consult.
What can I expect at my consult?
A consult will typically last about 1 hour.
Before meeting with the attorney, we will have you pay the consultation fee.
The consult allows us to offer you an evaluation of your case and determine if we are able to represent you for any possible immigration benefit or relief.
If we can represent you, we then create a course of action and determine the best strategy for your immigration situation.
A consult ensures you can walk away with an understanding of your options so that you can make an informed decision about your immigration needs.
What should I bring to the consultation appointment?
Current and prior passport(s) with I-94s
Any and all prior applications for immigration matters including the receipt notices and copies of the evidence submitted
Any and all documents pertaining to prior charges or convictions for criminal matters in the U.S. or anywhere in the world
If you have ever been in deportation or removal proceedings, please bring copies of the Notice to Appear or decisions by the Immigration Judge or Board of Immigration Appeals.
Any information about why you fear persecution in your home country and evidence of incidents of harm
Any information such as police reports or witness statements if you have been the victim of a crime in the U.S.
